Welcome to the first issue of Tails from Little Dog Ranch!
I’m Doodles, Founder and Resident Emeritus of Little Dog Ranch and Editor -In-Chief of this publication. I arrived at Little Dog Ranch in 2013, which makes me one of the old-timers around here. I’ve seen lots of dogs come through our doors. Some stayed a few weeks, some stayed forever, and every one of them had a story. For years I’ve been telling Mom that the folks who support us should know more about what goes on here. So, with a little help from Toni, Mom and the other humans, I’ve decided to let you peek behind the scenes at life at Little Dog Ranch—the happy moments, the sad ones, and all the everyday adventures in between.
People think we spend all day napping in comfy beds. Well, some of us do. But before most of us are even awake, Mom and some of our volunteers are already mixing medications, preparing special meals, cleaning bedding, and making sure everyone gets exactly what they need.”
Before I sign off, there’s one thing I want to say. The stories you’ve read here are really your stories too. They only happen because friends like you have helped Mom keep Little Dog Ranch going all these years. Every warm bed, every full food bowl, every medicine bottle, every second chance and every happy tail wag is possible because you cared enough to help. On behalf of Scarlett, Bessie, Pita, the chickens, and all the rest of us, thank you.
