Hey there folks! Let me spill the beans about my epic journey. I’m Bam Bam but Mom calls me Bamalicious cuz she says I’m simply delicious! I strutted into LDR with a health situation that would make your jaw drop. My ear canals were like a VIP party for polyps, causing a ruckus, some serious infections, and a lifetime of pain! My eyes were bad too but drops fixed those. Folks thought I was 19, but I thought I was closer to a spry 15. Surgery was a bon voyage for my inner left ear and bam! I felt like a cool “13.” Then, it was the right ear’s turn, and suddenly I’m rocking the vibes of an 11-year-old. Next up, dental drama – they yanked out all but one rotten tooth, and voila, I’m feeling like a smooth “10.” Fast forward a bit, and after a bunch of healing magic, I’m now rocking it — deaf and visually impaired but pain-free. Do you know, I can now scamper! My wild guess is that I’m an 8 or 9-year-old miracle in the making! Ain’t that something?

To LDR: 04/10/2013
So, picture this – April 18, 2011, the day I, Doodles, graced the world. I’m a wise, spry 14-year-old pup and my story goes like this. I landed at the Steamboat Springs (CO) animal shelter in 2013, dumped by some clueless soul who thought I was “too needy.” Can you believe it? Anyway, my true family swooped in and adopted me. Now, truth be told, I’m a bit of a attention-hog, and yeah, some might say I’m spoiled. I’m a lover, a real smarty pants, and proudly the leader of the pack – they even gave me the middle name “trouble”! Mom calls me Denise the Menace too — go figure? Health-wise, I’m rocking it, still running and playing like a pup. Recently the doc said I needed eyedrops. Well, that just ain’t happening. AND, baths/grooming… that ain’t happening either without a major fight! Mom calls me Pig Pen too cuz I love to be dirty. Gosh she has so many names for me — she must REALLY love me! Well, here’s my confession… I tell Mom that I want to be a “good boy” but I lie. Life is just too short to follow a lot of rules!

Hi, I’m Pita and I’m 14 years young. I came to Little Dog Ranch with my sister Izzy. Our Dad went to the hospital forever and left us behind. We were scared. After a while, our aunt came and took us to LDR, the best place ever. Sadly, my sis died a few months ago (she was always sickly) but I have 9 brothers that love me cuz I’m the only girl. AND… I can jump!!! My special superpower is scaring the boys from the couch, the ottoman, the bed – any place high. Silly brothers – wandering around not looking – till I rain down some obnoxious barkedy-bark! Hey, don’t judge… most of my brothers can’t hear anyway! My lawn chatter is rude too… just ask the Chewy & Prime drivers. Yep, I defend my Mom from everyone… and yes, I get to sleep in Mom’s bed! I’m LDR’s Little Diva!

I’m Marty and I ended up in the back of a paddy wagon at the Pasco Cty Animal Shelter. Gosh I was sick — horribly infected ears, terrible teeth, and cysts all over my body. OK, so I was a train wreck physically but mentally, I was Hulk Hogan! It was Thursday before the 4th of July weekend and the animal police ditched me at a shelter filled with “tough guys” and “gangsters”. I soooo didn’t fit in. Some jerk in charge said I was unadoptable due to my health… and added that I better be gone before the weekend “or else”. I wasn’t sure what “or else” meant but it didn’t sound good. Poodle & Pooch Rescue heard about me and contacted a nice lady who would soon be my Mom. She drove to Tampa to get me. They opened my cage door for my “meet & greet” and I mustered every bit of enthusiasm I could — darting to meet her and jump a full 3 feet into her arms. That did it — she said I was hers! Mission accomplished! I enjoyed my 2-hour Freedom Ride to Little Dog Ranch, barking the entire way (My new Mom was definitely thrilled!). Now, my nasty ears and teeth are gone and I feel like a pup. I am FULL of energy, I love chow-time (it shows!) and I do a mean imitation of Michael Jackson’s moon walk before all meals. Mom says I’m one of LDR’s most colorful characters!
OSITO
Born: 01/14/2008
To LDR: 03/20/2023
I’m Osito, a miniature toy poodle prince with a story to tell. My previous owners, who loved me dearly, had to make a tough call because they couldn’t give me the eldercare I needed. You see, my heart is significantly enlarged, my spine’s got a bit of a hump, and let’s not even talk about my teeth – they were downright hideous. But here comes the miracle part – heart medications and getting rid of all those rotten teeth did wonders for me. Now, I’m such a happy little guy, and I have to admit, I am spoiled every day. Handfeeding? Check! Sleeping next to my Mom in bed? You bet! I’m living the good life! I’m all about snuggling and spreading love to everyone, even the cat! They say I have a beautiful soul, and honestly, I think I deserve to be treated like the little king that I am. I may be small, but I’m one special boy, and I’m soaking up all the love and attention I can get!
POGO

Hi, I’m Pogo and I don’t say much. Actually, I really don’t speak at all. I’m a soulful loner, quiet, patient, and calm. I’m a sentinel and a most diligent bodyguard. I’ve been introduced to the concept of cuddling but am not much of a fan. I prefer to lay by my Mom’s feet wherever she is. At night, I sleep by her bed. If she moves at all, I’m alert and ready to quietly follow her. On Day 1 I received my red name tag – my name on one side and Mom’s on the other. I knew I finally belonged. I came to LDR because I have cancer and my Mom took me to Gainesville Veterinary Institute of Specialists to see if I could be fixed. I’m glad she decided to let me be cuz I’m lovin’ life and living the dream! My favorite activity is trotting next to the lawn mower when Mom cuts the grass. After that, I love to eat – the boiled chicken & rice here is great. And of course, over anything else, I stand guard as the 1st Lieutenant of the pack.
COMMEN

To LDR: 1/19/2024
Well, look at me! With a face only a mother could love, I’m truly settling in at LDR. I came from a great home but my first Mom & Dad were gone for work a lot. I was lonely and cried so my then-Mom said Little Dog Ranch would be the ticket. For a bit I was depressed but now I think this place rocks! My new Mom spiffed me up really good – I went to the ophthalmologist and now I get eyedrops that help me big time. Kristy is a helper at LDR and I fell in love the first time I saw her. She loves me too, to the moon and back, and thinks I am her special child. I dig sleeping and I also love my eats. I even have a special plate that is large and flat, to accommodate my handsome flat face! I have the best tail of all my siblings, so I get groomed a little more than the others. But no matter what, I always have the same face — kind of like a Persian cat, everyone who looks at me just smiles. I guess that’s my purpose in life, to make people smile!
